EDF Energy
EDF Energy is a subsidiary of the EDF Group, one of Europe’s largest energy groups. EDF Energy was created in 2003 following the acquisition and mergers of SEEBOARD (or South Easter Electricity Board), London Electricity, SWEB Energy (or South Western Electricity Board). The EDF Group also includes the former Virgin Energy Company. It has 15,000 employees and generates around one fifth of the UK’s electricity. EDF Energy supplies electricity and gas to around 5.5 million residential and business customers. EDF Energy offers support to the elderly, chronically sick and disabled through its priority service.
