SSE (formerly Scottish and Southern Energy) is the parent company for Atlantic, Scottish Hydro, Southern Electric and SWALEC. It serves over 10 million customer accounts across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. SSE generates and supplies electricity and gas. It operates gas and telecoms networks and other energy-related services such as gas storage, contracting, connections and metering. It is the UK’s largest generator from renewable sources.

SSE is the UK’s largest non-nuclear electricity generator. SSE is a leader in generating electricity from renewable resources including wind, wave, tide and hydro-electricity. SSE has its main base in Perth but has offices across the UK through its different brands. SSE is a vertically integrated energy company which means that they own the supply side and the distribution side on the energy market. SSE has more than 50 years of experience in the generation, transmission and supply of energy.
